KRnet Conference 2020 Held Online for the First Time Due to COVID-19
Published2020.06.05 15:51The 'Korea Internet Conference 2020,' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and co-organized by nine related organizations including the National Information & Communication Technology Promotion Agency (NIA), will be held as an online conference (webinar) for two days from Monday, the 22nd, to Tuesday, the 23rd.
The KRnet Conference, which introduces the latest technology trends related to the Internet at home and abroad, has been held annually since the first Korea Academic Computer Network Workshop in July 1993.
The KRnet Conference, marking its 28th anniversary this year, will be held as an online conference, or webinar, to practice social distancing in daily life.
At this event, which is scheduled to feature over 90 technical session lectures and discussions, four keynote speakers composed of IT experts (Professor Jang Byung-tak of Seoul National University, Director Lee Yoon-keun of ETRI, Professor Jeong Song of KAIST, and CEO Yoo Eung-jun of NVIDIA Korea) will forecast the crises and opportunities brought about by the AI era.
In addition, an awards ceremony is held to present the Internet Promotion Award and the Internet Technology Award to individuals who have contributed to the development of the domestic internet industry.
Those wishing to participate in the KRnet 2020 webinar can pre-register through the official event website by Friday, the 12th.

Promoting the activation of 10-gigabit internet in preparation for the post-COVID era
In the wake of COVID-19, attention is being drawn not only to the creation of work environments for remote work but also to services aimed at improving the efficiency of video conferencing and remote lecture systems.
