On the 15th, LG Electronics held a completion ceremony for the 'Manufacturing AI Leader Course' at the Natural Science Campus of Sungkyunkwan University in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do.
On this day, approximately 20 employees selected as AI leaders attended, along with Executive Vice President Kim Byung-yeol, Head of the Manufacturing Innovation Center at LG Electronics Production Technology Institute, Professor Lee Ji-hyung, Dean of the AI Graduate School at Sungkyunkwan University, and Vice President Lee Jung-hwan of the Human Resources Development Institute.
LG Electronics has been operating the course since 2019 in collaboration with Sungkyunkwan University. In 2020, it was conducted for three months starting in April.
Program participants received training in core theories related to AI and big data from faculty members of the Department of Software Engineering and the Department of Systems Management Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University, and carried out problem-solving tasks using real-world data.
LG Electronics determined that capabilities related to AI and big data are necessary for the digital transformation of the manufacturing sector and the establishment of smart factories, and is developing and conducting this process under the leadership of the Production Technology Institute.
Program participants will return to their respective workplaces to solve practical tasks and carry out manufacturing innovation by utilizing data.
LG Electronics plans to continuously strengthen its manufacturing competitiveness in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution environment by operating customized training programs, including the Manufacturing AI Leader course, data analysis, machine learning, deep learning, equipment intelligence, and smart factory solutions, to digitize production technology.
