M.2 Format Multi-Protocol PC Card 'cifX' Officially Launched

Hilscher announced on the 15th that it has officially launched the 'cifX' small multi-protocol PC card in the M.2 2230 format.

The cifX card in M.2 2230 Key A+E format for real-time Ethernet and fieldbus protocols is a technology platform that enables immediate connection of existing or new devices to industrial automation networks and includes the necessary hardware and software.

The cifX card is equipped with Hilscher's netX 90 SoC, enabling the execution of multiple different protocols on a single multi-protocol hardware. Additionally, it comes with Loadable Firmware (LFW) and corresponding network connectors for the PROFINET IO-Device, EtherNet/IP adapter, EtherCAT slave, and OpenModbus/TCP.

Hilscher continues to supply firmware related to real-time Ethernet and fieldbus protocols. It provides device drivers for all major operating systems used in industrial environments, such as Windows, Linux, INtime, RTX, and QNX, as well as a C-Toolkit for custom device drivers.

cifX cards with a form factor of 22 × 30 mm can also be used in small applications such as vision systems, industrial box PCs, and HMI panels.
