As the demand for reducing carbon dioxide emissions from the petrochemical industry grows, data-driven decision-making and transparent monitoring are emerging as key challenges for these companies.

Schneider Electric announced on the 4th that it has signed a strategic partnership with AVEVA and DORIS Group to provide digital twin technology to the petrochemical industry.

The three companies will combine their engineering expertise, asset lifecycle software solutions, and digital expertise to develop a complete digital twin solution that will play a central role in improving performance in the upstream sector (crude oil exploration, development, production, etc.).

Traditional petrochemical companies have struggled with digitalization due to a lack of unified and structured digital twin-related data. Different types of data from different sources and vendors often lead to inaccuracies and incompatibilities in the data, making it difficult to organize the data and identify trends.

The digital twin solution jointly developed by the three companies will help companies in the petrochemical business achieve their goals, improve asset performance, enhance sustainability, and maximize project investment returns.

The solution to be developed will enable companies to stream new assets more quickly using cloud-based software, increasing engineering efficiency.
