ST Launches 26 1mm Thick Schottky Diodes
50% less profile than standard SMA/SMB packages


On the 19th, STMicroelectronics released 26 new Schottky diodes based on low-profile SMA and SMB flat packages, providing rated voltages ranging from 25V to 200V and rated currents ranging from 1A to 5A.

These 1.0mm thick devices are 50% thinner than standard SMA and SMB package diodes, allowing for higher power density and space savings. It is compatible with SMA and SMB footprints, making drop-in replacement easy.

Because it provides a higher rated current compared to standard products of the same footprint, existing circuits containing SMC diodes can be switched to ST’s small SMB Flat devices, and similarly, SMB can be replaced with SMA Flat devices.

Equipped with low forward voltage, it provides energy efficiency for industrial and consumer applications such as power supplies and auxiliary power supplies, chargers, digital signage, game consoles, set-top boxes, electric bicycles, computer peripherals, servers, communication cards, and 5G repeaters.

The new Schottky diodes are available for long-term support with ST’s 10-year product supply warranty and are offered in a wide range of sizes, from 30V/1A STPS130AFN and STPS1L30AFN based on SMA flat packages to 200V/4A STPS4S200UFN and 100V/5A STPS5H100UFN based on SMB flat packages.

All devices are specified as avalanche and feature notched leads suitable for wave soldering and reflow. Standard prices vary by rating and package, and are $0.07 for purchases of 10,000.
