SE Launches New KEC·IEC Compliant SMPS


With the introduction of the Korean Electrical Equipment Regulations (KEC) starting next January, the need for power supply units equipped with IEC international standards is increasing.

Schneider Electric unveiled three new lines of Modicon Power Supply on the 21st.

Modicon power supplies are Switching Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) that convert externally supplied AC power into DC power to suit the conditions of various electronic devices.

The newly released Modicon power supply is available in three types to suit different applications: Modular (ABLM Modular), Optimized (ABLS Optimized), and Panel Mount (ABLP Panel mount). Users can select the product according to their needs, such as for control circuits in PLCs and automation system equipment.

The new products are compliant with the Korea Electro-technical Code (KEC) effective from January 2021 and meet the new IEC 62368-1 international standard. In addition, a QR code is attached to the device, allowing you to easily check product descriptions and guides.

The Optimized Type replaces the existing ABL7RP and ABL8REM series. It supports a power range of 75W to 480W. The application of a conformal coating to prevent damage from dust and liquids enhances the product's robustness and reliability. Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection ensures stable power output even in harsh environments.

The modular type offers eight models in the 10W to 60W range. It is certified to the U.S. safety standard UL1310 Class 2 and has achieved OVC (Over Voltage Category) 3. It replaces the existing ABL7RM and ABL8MEM product lines.

The panel mount type offers four models in the output range of 100W to 240W. In particular, the 240W model incorporates an active Power Factor Correction (PFC) circuit, enabling high power efficiency and stable power supply. Additionally, the 100W and 150W models comply with IEC 61000-3-2.
