Mouser Electronics announced today that it is now stocking the IWR6x millimeter wave (mmWave) sensor family from Texas Instruments (TI).

The IWR6x sensor product is an integrated millimeter wave sensor based on Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar technology that can operate in the 60 GHz to 64 GHz band and is manufactured using a low-power 45 nm RFCMOS process.
It offers ultra-high-resolution detection capabilities, capable of detecting objects, people, and subtle movements, including breathing and typing. Its ultra-wide bandwidth of up to 4 GHz enables object detection up to 16 times more accurately than 24 GHz narrowband solutions. Notably, the IWR6843 sensor incorporates the C674x DSP for advanced signal processing.
The IWR6x sensor family includes application-specific algorithms, scalable software, and several reference designs, enabling developers to quickly create high-performance sensor solutions.
It is also optimized for use in industrial environments, supporting key applications such as motion detection, robotics, people counting, vital signs monitoring, and safety guarding. It is also suitable for low-power, ultra-precision, self-monitoring industrial radar systems.
