Touch operation is possible even with gloved hands


There is a growing demand for industrial PCs that control and monitor automation systems and machines.

Schneider Electric unveiled the Pro-face PS6000 industrial PC on the 15th. Featuring high stability and flexible modules, it meets the diverse needs of customers, including automation engineers, operators, production managers, and maintenance professionals.

The PS6000 series is highly open. Equipped with Proface's SCADA solution, BLUE Open Studio, it supports functions such as animation, email, local recipe management, remote connectivity, FDA Part 11 compliance, and PDF export.

Additionally, it provides basic OPC interfaces such as MQTT and OPC UA/DA, and supports higher-level connections to databases via MQTT over higher-level networks. This openness and connectivity enable integration between HMIs and various devices.

Custom modular device designs tailored to specific customer needs allow customers to select features based on their needs. Box PCs support processors ranging from Intel Core i3 to i7 and feature displays ranging in size from 10 inches to 22 inches. Starting next year, pre-installed bundles will also be included.

Customization of HMI design is possible to meet customer needs. Custom designs can be created, such as attaching a camera to the front of the HMI, manufacturing products suitable for special environments, or inserting the customer's logo.

Various working environments were also taken into consideration. The display touch can be switched from the default mode to glove mode, which allows use without removing gloves, and water mode. It is shock and vibration resistant to ensure operation in extreme environments, and its operating temperature range is 0 to 55°C.

It meets Level 1 of the Achilles Communications Certification, an international certification that evaluates the network security of industrial devices, and complies with IEC-62443. It features a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) for data encryption by default, and a Kensington lock for enhanced physical security.

Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure Augmented Operator Advisor, which incorporates augmented reality (AR) technology, enables fast and safe maintenance. Schneider Electric ensures long-term availability across its industrial PC portfolio and supports continuous monitoring by expert engineers throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Meanwhile, Schneider Electric will launch a reasonably priced HMI package solution in partnership with Aviva in October. The offering includes the Proface PS6000, the Aviva Edge 2020 Embedded HMI, and the Aviva Edge 2020 SCADA Solution.
