Supply of UWB technology products to Kobo, which acquired Decawave
Includes UWB-based DWM1000 and DWM1001 modules


Mouser Electronics announced today that Qorvo's full line of ultra-wideband (UWB) technology products is now available for ordering on its website.

RF solutions provider Qorvo recently acquired Decawave, a provider of UWB technology products for mobile, automotive and IoT applications.

Based on Decawave’s UWB technology products, Qobo’s UWB portfolio includes two modules built around the ‘DW1000 UWB transceiver IC’.

This IC enables the development of precise indoor/outdoor positioning within 10cm and cost-effective real-time location system (RTLS) solutions. It is IEEE802.15.4-2011 compliant and supports data rates up to 6.8Mbps.

First, the 'DWM1000 module' integrates the DW1000 IC, antenna, power management and clocking components to simplify design integration with a variety of MCUs. The module supports Time-of-Flight (ToF) and Time-difference-of-arrival (TDoA) positioning techniques in RTLS and wireless networking applications such as agriculture, building control, factory automation, and healthcare.

Next up is Cobo’s ‘DWM1001 module’ which combines the DW1000 IC, Nordic Semiconductor nRF52832 SoC, 3-axis accelerometer and integrated antenna to create a solution that minimises RF and hardware design requirements.

Mouser stocks the DWM1001-DEV, which includes the DWM1001 module for development, battery connector and charging circuitry, LEDs, buttons, Raspberry Pi-compatible connection, and USB connector. The board also comes with J-Link OB for added debugging and virtual COM port capabilities.
