Cisco Systems and Genie Networks signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Cisco Korea headquarters in Samseong-dong, Seoul, on the 23rd. The two companies will work together to create new business opportunities in the SDA and NAC sectors.
The coronavirus pandemic has led to the full-scale adoption of remote work, forcing corporate IT administrators to identify devices connected to their networks and implement new security policies. SDA automatically recognizes user devices at the network level and applies appropriate settings and policies. This automation is essential for improving the efficiency of IT infrastructure management, enabling corporate IT departments to reduce network management time and manage remote workers more flexibly and proactively.

Cisco and Genie will focus on developing new markets to meet the growing demand for SDA and NAC systems. The two companies plan to develop next-generation SDA and NAC technologies as well as create new service models to attract customers. We also plan and operate customer events, technology seminars, and other joint customer service activities.

Through this agreement, Cisco will share its SDA lab, C9K series, DNA-C appliances, and ISE servers with Genie Networks and begin developing products tailored to the Korean market. Genie Networks will also share its lab and related products with Cisco to develop products with enhanced functionality. Furthermore, it plans to leverage Cisco's robust marketing channels and customer data to maximize sales synergy.
