Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI) today announced the addition of the 2U Ultra-E short depth to its Network Equipment Building System (NEBS) Level 3 certified server portfolio.
Supermicro's Ultra product line includes innovative, space-saving Ultra riser cards. It also offers customers a wide range of networking and expandability options, offering customizable, high-performance options including all-NVMe, hybrid storage, and low-latency optimization.

The currently commercially available 2U Ultra-E server targets edge micro data centers and is powered by dual 2nd-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, supporting up to 205 watts of thermal design power. The 2U Ultra-E features hot-swap drives and fan modules in the front, with a compact 22.6-inch depth. It also supports up to 6TB of DDR4 memory across 24 DIMM slots and provides eight PCI-E 3.0 expansion slots for flexible networking, GPU, and FPGA choices.

Meanwhile, Supermicro continues to demonstrate its commitment to the communications sector with short-depth systems, NEBS compliance, and DC power options. Simultaneously, it continues to collaborate with 5G and communications software providers, enabling server operators to leverage commercial server products for new infrastructure rollouts and leverage open standards, O-RAN-based solutions.
