XP Power announced on the 28th that it has launched the '10kW Glassman BQ Series' as a high-voltage power supply for OEMs, industrial and laboratory organizations requiring controllable DC power of 0 to 15kV and 0 to 100kV.

This high-speed response device is capable of strict voltage regulation of 0.005% or more during line regulation and 0.01% or more under load, and can produce up to 50kW by connecting up to 5 devices in parallel in a master-slave configuration.

The BQ series input is provided as a standard 208Vac three-phase standard, but 200Vac, 380Vac, 415Vac, and 480Vac options are also available. Efficiency is generally over 80% at maximum load, and ripple is generally less than 0.05% RMS of the rated output voltage.

All models are safety certified according to the EN/IEC 61010 standard, and the CE mark complies with the RoHS directive. It complies with the electrical appliance safety standards EN61000-6-4 and EN61000-6-2:2005, and applications include ion implantation, additive manufacturing, electron beam welding, sputtering, vapor deposition, and plasma power.

The BQ series is air-insulated and can switch between constant voltage and constant current modes via automatic crossover. This feature provides protection against overload, arc, and short circuits. A rear panel switch allows selection of constant current or current trip modes.
