ABB Offers Free SaaS That Reduces Facility Operating Costs by 40%
Published2020.11.06 14:48On the 5th, ABB announced the 'ABB Ability™ Energy and Asset Manager' SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) solution, which manages assets and energy by application to reduce operating costs by up to 40%.
The new solution offers the same functionality as the existing 'ABB Ability EDCS' and 'MyRemoteCare' solutions, but allows for simple access through a single dashboard interface. Users can review and analyze equipment performance data anytime, anywhere, optimize real-time energy consumption through asset management, and improve overall site efficiency.
The new SaaS, suitable for small and medium-sized factories, shopping malls, and data centers, allows for software upgrades online via the ABB Ability Marketplace™ and access to existing services. In addition, you can easily add or remove services at any time.
ABB Ability Energy Asset Manager is a free SaaS service announced by ABB earlier this year, and ABB Ability EDCS and MyRemoteCare will be phased out starting next year. No changes to customer installations are required as a result.
The ABB Ability Edge Industrial Gateway is a control and management product that simplifies the existing 'E-Hub 2.0' gateway. It collects field equipment data as well as environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, and gas, and transmits the collected data to ABB Ability SaaS.
Users can monitor all downstream devices via Ethernet cables from the cloud, and optional Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity modules are available. Offline monitoring capabilities, which integrate low- and high-voltage environments and connect directly to enterprise networks and data storage devices, will be available starting early next year.
