The Ministry of Science and ICT will hold the '2021 ICT Industry Outlook Conference' online for two days from November 10 (Tue) to 11 (Wed) to discuss changes in the information and communication technology (ICT) industry in the post-COVID era, future prospects, and policy measures.

This conference, marking its 20th anniversary this year, selected the future world of ICT as envisioned by those in their 20s as its theme by conducting a preliminary survey on the theme of 'the future of ICT' targeting approximately 2,000 young people in their 20s.

The selected themes are five: a convenient world, a safe world, a world together, a fair world, and an innovative world.

On the first day, Tuesday the 10th, the event will begin with a lecture on 'The World Order in the Post-COVID Era' by Jason Schenker, President of the Futurist Institute and ranked No. 1 futurist by Bloomberg, followed by a lecture on 'The World Economy in the Context of ICT Development' by Kim Heung-jong, President of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP).

In the afternoon, 'ICT Consumer Trends in the Post-COVID Era (Professor Kim Nan-do, Seoul National University)', 'ICT Trends and Market Changes (CEO Son Jae-kwon of Silicon Valley The Milk, SiGartner, a specialized market research firm, will make announcements in turn.

Following this, the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) will present the growth of the domestic ICT market and export outlook despite the COVID-19 situation through its report, 'Changes in the External Environment and the Outlook for Our ICT.'

Finally, the Institute of Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation (IITP) also announces the 'Top 10 ICT Issues of 2021' and forecasts major issues for next year, such as the Digital New Deal and the expansion of non-face-to-face industries.

On Wednesday the 11th, the event will be organized to discuss 'DNA (Data, Network, AI),' a core industry of the Digital New Deal for post-COVID response, and measures for industrial response in the non-face-to-face era.

In the morning, lectures will be held under the themes of 'convenience' and 'safety,' covering topics such as the utilization and transition of new digital technologies like DNA, and the importance of information security.

In the afternoon, under the themes of 'Together,' 'Fairness,' and 'Innovation,' discussions will cover the direction of ICT, the industrial environment, and the current status of future preparedness.
