Dell Launches High-Density 5U Storage Server 'XE7100'

On the 10th, Dell Technologies launched the high-density 5U storage server 'Dell EMC PowerEdge XE7100'.
The newly announced PowerEdge XE7100 is a family of infrastructure solutions that effectively support workloads specific to each environment, from edge to core data centers.

It can accommodate up to 100 high-capacity hard drives—67% more than competing products—and delivers optimal performance for intelligent video analytics, media streaming, object storage, and more. It consists of one or two dual-socket nodes supporting up to four accelerators, boosting machine learning inference performance and eliminating data silos.

A standard 42U rack configuration with eight PowerEdge XE7100 servers can accommodate up to 200 more high-capacity drives than comparable servers from other vendors. This reduces management tasks by 20% and the number of power cables by half, ensuring high performance while lowering TCO (total cost of ownership) and complexity. Additionally, it can increase power supply efficiency, lower operating costs, and reduce carbon emissions by up to 40%.

In addition, Dell has updated its OpenManage Systems Management portfolio alongside these new products. This update, featuring three key features, supports the rapid deployment and expansion of dynamic infrastructure: 1) eliminating complexity through full-stack management capabilities, 2) automating server lifecycle tasks and rapid expansion, and 3) the plug-in Flex Select architecture.
