On the 24th, Infineon Technologies AG unveiled 'SECORA™ ID X', a security solution for contactless electronic identification (eID) that supports government ID solutions that require high security and universality.

The new flagship product offers a large user memory of up to 450KB (kilobytes), enabling the design of a variety of eID products, from ID-only cards to multi-function cards that combine ID, digital signature, and secure web access capabilities.

To enable easy and fast implementation of customized ID solutions for each country, Infineon offers the 'Secora ID X Open Platform', which includes all necessary tools.

The Secora ID X open platform, based on the Java Card™ standard v3.0.5 software, provides a chip and operating system that has achieved Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) 6+ rating in the Common Criteria (CC) to meet the security requirements of e-government applications. We also provide several applets for personalizing your ID.

The Secora ID X comes with CryptoVision's ePasslet Suite, which features a modular design and three editions that can be customized to meet application needs. Infineon is currently sampling a solution for national eID applications, including digital signature functionality, using the ePasslet Suite.

Meanwhile, Infineon has a Competence Center for Contactless Technology in Graz, Austria. Infineon's security solutions are being used in more than 200 government ID projects, covering more than 75% of the world's population.
