AE Introduces SCR Controller for Precision Heating Applications

Advanced Energy (AE) announced on the 25th the Thyro-A+, a silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR) power controller for precision industrial and semiconductor heating applications.
The Tyro-A+ delivers next-generation SCR precision and load monitoring, the industry's smallest design footprint, and new digital control capabilities for precision heating, melting, drying, and molding applications.
The control engine has been newly designed, resulting in higher control accuracy than 'Tyro-A', and a measurement sampling speed 16 times faster. This enables users to achieve improved process uniformity and repeatability, reduced energy consumption, and increased process throughput for precision heating applications.
“The TYRO-A+ is certified for the Rockwell Abrown Partner program and connects directly to Rockwell Automation Logix PAC systems, providing customers with a simple path to integrated system design,” said Andreas Breitkopf, director of photonics and PCS products at AE.
The Tyro-A+ belongs to the AE Tyro SCR power controller family, which includes the Tyro-A and Tyro-A Eco, Tyro-S, and Tyro-PX series. These SCR power controllers feature easy transfer of system parameters using "copy-and-paste" configuration profiles, enabling rapid installation and replacement.
