55 VLMs with shelves and automatic elevators in operation
Using 'iPack' that processes up to 14 orders per minute


Mouser Electronics announced on the 16th that it is automating its global distribution centers to ensure hundreds of thousands of customers worldwide receive the right products at the right time.

Mouser's 320,000-square-foot (320,000-square-meter) large-scale distribution center in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Texas, manages over one million unique stock keeping units (SKUs) from over 1,100 manufacturers.

Mouser currently operates 55 vertical lift modules (VLMs). VLMs are massive vertical filing cabinets equipped with shelves and automated elevators, storing tens of thousands of electronic components. VLMs deliver parts directly to employees' workstations, increasing efficiency while also saving significant installation space.

“Our employees process tens of thousands of orders each week, most within 15 minutes,” said Pete Shopp, Mouser’s senior vice president of business operations. “We can even deliver single-lot parts.”

He also said, “The construction of a new 12,000㎡ logistics center has recently been completed,” and “We have a number of ‘I-Pack machines,’ a sophisticated automatic packing and packaging system that can process up to 14 orders per minute, and we are currently adding the ‘OPEX Perfect Pick system.’”
