The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) launched the AI Voucher Program in 2021.
Not only ventures and small and medium-sized enterprises, but also mid-sized enterprises are eligible for support.
Up to 300 million won in support is provided when selecting a demand company.


The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 21st that it will launch the '2021 AI Voucher' support project to support the use of AI solutions and services for ventures, small and medium-sized enterprises, and mid-sized companies preparing to introduce AI technology.

The AI voucher was introduced to provide competitive small and medium-sized enterprises (suppliers) with an opportunity to promote their AI technologies to the market, and to facilitate the use of expensive AI technologies by companies requiring AI technology (demanders), thereby promoting digital transformation across all industries.

In 2020, the first year of the business, 1,972 new hires and 39.1 billion won in investment results were achieved, while many successful cases in the field were discovered (▲Supplier: Money Brain, Lulu Lab ▲Demander: Blue Ocean English Combination, Monitech, Overflow, JVG, KIT, Medical AI, Cantis), such as quality improvement, productivity enhancement, and cost reduction for demand companies through the use of AI.

In 2021, the project will be implemented with a budget of 56 billion won, with the goal of selecting 200 projects. Furthermore, the scope of support has been expanded to include mid-sized companies. The selection of companies that will use the voucher will be conducted through a public contest from Friday, January 22nd to Tuesday, March 2nd.

AI-utilization business plans will be evaluated based on their specificity and feasibility, and selected companies will receive vouchers worth up to 300 million won. Ventures and SMEs are required to cover at least 20% of the total project cost, while mid-sized companies are required to cover at least 30%. Cash must account for at least 10% of this amount.

Following last year, we are also recruiting additional suppliers. The application period runs from Friday, January 22nd to Friday, February 19th. Companies in need of AI solutions will select and utilize suppliers from the supplier pool to purchase and utilize their customized AI solutions.
