With the digitalization of society as a whole, interest in providing continuous digital services has grown. In response, Schneider Electric announced on the 5th the "APC Smart-UPS with Lithium-ion" product line, which applies lithium-ion battery technology to UPS.

The APC SmartUPS Lithium-ion line offers a compact size and weight suitable for integration with edge infrastructure, and offers a variety of power factor output options (500/750/1000/1500 VA) for a variety of applications. Furthermore, compared to conventional UPSs using VRLA batteries, these models can achieve a TCO reduction of approximately 50% and are backed by a five-year warranty.

Management is possible through 'EcoStruxure IT', a data center infrastructure management (DCIM) software, and remote status monitoring is also possible with 'EcoStruxure Asset Advisor', a cloud-based service.

Products with form factors of 2U or larger are equipped with an LCD display and a built-in energy meter to check current power consumption and efficiency. It also displays UPS status as a score, indicating when it's time to replace it and what preventative measures are needed before a problem occurs. Operating in "Green Mode" can increase efficiency by up to 97%.

In particular, the EcoStruxure Ready APC Smart-UPS models offer a variety of management options to suit every need. Each model is cloud-ready out of the box for remote monitoring options and includes PowerChute™ Business Edition software for automated shutdown.

The Network Management Card (NMC) provides remote access, monitoring, and management of the UPS, including direct access via a web interface. It also supports integration of UPS management into existing infrastructure management environments through the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) interface.

Customers can leverage monitoring systems from APC channel partners and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and the EcoStruxure Asset Advisor remote monitoring service to increase reliability and reduce downtime risk.
