Three Organizations Promote Utilization of Manufacturing Data by SMEs
Providing smart factory solutions to small and medium-sized manufacturers for one year
After-sales service, such as parts replacement and software upgrades, is also supported.


On the 19th, SK Telecom signed a business agreement with the Korea Small Business & Venture Corporation (KOSBC) and the Korea Smart Factory Data Association (KASAD) to promote the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises.

To help the sustainable growth of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies facing economic difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the three organizations have decided to form a consultative body to support the utilization of manufacturing data and the activation of smart factories, and to join forces in providing integrated support for policy funds and AI and cloud technologies.

According to a survey conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) targeting companies adopting smart factories and suppliers, 95% of adopting companies were initially satisfied with the solution, but later 48% experienced difficulties such as a shortage of operational personnel and difficulties in utilizing the system.

The three organizations are launching the 'Equipment Operation Optimization Pilot Project' by forming a supplier alliance to resolve operational difficulties faced by companies adopting smart factories, providing data collection devices and real-time equipment monitoring systems to small and medium-sized enterprises free of charge for one year.

In this project, SKT is offering 'Metatron Grandview,' a self-developed cloud server-based smart factory AI monthly subscription service.We provide 'Metatron Grandview' free of charge for 12 months. Metatron Grandview collects and analyzes various data using sensors attached to factory equipment to predict the current status of the equipment and when maintenance is required in real time.

SKT plans to provide real-time monitoring of equipment data, alarms for equipment anomalies and failure precursors, database storage of equipment maintenance records, and database-based equipment-specific AI analysis modeling through Metatron Grandview. This is expected to alleviate issues such as initial smart factory implementation costs, operational personnel, and maintenance for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The Korea Small Business & Startup Agency (KOSBA) is responsible for policy funding, post-management support for smart factories, and the recruitment and selection of target companies. KASAD will handle demand identification through member companies, the free provision of data collection devices, and consulting related to smart factories and ICT technologies.
