IT/OT Convergence: Security is the Biggest Barrier

According to IDC's 2020 Global IT/OT Convergence Survey, the primary drivers for IT/OT convergence are improved operational safety and performance, cost reduction, and quality improvement. Furthermore, 48.8% of IT/OT managers identified security as the biggest barrier to IT/OT convergence.

Moxa announced on the 16th that it received IEC 62443-4-1 certification for industrial network security. This certification defines a security development lifecycle for developing and maintaining security products for industrial automation and control systems. Certification testing was conducted by LCIE Bureau Veritas, and the certificate was issued by the IECEE Certification Body.

“Moxa has been considering the security requirements of the IEC 62443 standard throughout our product development process since 2016, before achieving certification,” said Samuel Chiu, General Manager of Moxa Networking.

He added, “We will implement ‘secure by design’ solutions through continued investment in cybersecurity and close collaboration with customers.”
