Synology, a global leader in Network Attached Storage (NAS), has unveiled a high-performance storage solution for SMB customers that is twice as fast as its previous model.

It also stated, “It supports essential remote work applications such as Synology Office, Synology Drive, and Synology Chat, which are Synology’s file sharing and productivity solutions that allow workers to stay connected and access company data.”

The RS2821RP+ has significantly improved performance compared to the previous model, with random write IOPS improved by 115% and read IOPS by 162%.

In addition, sequential read performance improved by 26% at 2,200 MB/s and sequential write throughput improved by 65% at 1,164 MB/s.

In particular, the RS2821RP+ can be upgraded to meet specific business requirements.

You can improve network throughput by installing a dual-port Synology 10GbE or 25GbE NIC3 using a PCIe port, or create an SSD cache using a Synology M.2 adapter card with an SNV3000 series NVMe SSD.

This method is an economical way to enhance the random read/write IOPS of a hard drive array without using standard drive bays.

The memory can be expanded to 32GB of DDR4 ECC memory, and the total number of drive bays can be expanded to 28 by adding 12 drive bays with the RX1217(RP) expansion unit.

The RS2821RP+ comes with Synology's 3-year limited warranty, which can be extended to 5 years in some regions.
