Synology Launches New 12-Bay RackStation

Synology, a global leader in the Network Attached Storage (NAS) field, has launched a new 12-bay RackStation.
Synology announced on the 22nd the release of the new 12-bay RackStation RS2421+ and the RS2421RP+, which features redundant power repeating capabilities. Both systems are built to deliver outstanding performance in large-scale general storage applications, including backup, file, or personal cloud servers.
The performance of the new device has improved dramatically compared to the previous model.
Random write IOPS improved by 103%, and random read IOPS improved by 161%. In addition, sequential read performance improved by 26% at 2,200 MB/s and sequential write throughput improved by 63% at 1,154 MB/s.
Both the RS2421+ and RS2421RP+ can be equipped with a Synology 10GbE or 25GbE NIC to improve network throughput, or a Synology SNV3400/3500 NVMe SSD cache can be installed using an M.2 adapter card, allowing for economical enhancement of random read/write IOPS of a hard drive array without using standard drive bays.
This device supports up to 32GB of ECC DDR4 memory, and adding one RX1217(RP) expansion unit provides 12 additional drive bays, bringing the total to 24 bays. This device comes with a 3-year Synology limited warranty, which can be extended to 5 years in some regions.
Since the DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system runs on all Synology NAS devices, you can build a feature-rich and powerful solution ecosystem.
Hyper Backup allows users to back up NAS data to the cloud and other destinations, while Active Backup Suite provides powerful backups for Windows clients, servers, file servers, and virtual machines. Synology Drive, Chat, and Office offer browser-accessible office applications, file sharing, and chat features, helping remote workers collaborate seamlessly.
Surveillance Station transforms the model into an all-in-one surveillance solution supporting up to 40 cameras. Authentication integration with VMware, Windows, and other virtualization platforms allows for easy management of VM storage.
