Carbon Research Association, Carbon Materials Industry R&D Activation Technology Conference

A forum was set up to examine global market trends in the carbon materials sector and explore strategies for fostering the industry through the dissemination of R&D technology.
The Carbon Convergence Industry Research Association will hold the 'Carbon Material Industry R&D Activation Technology Conference' at 10:00 AM on April 28th at the Advanced Nuri Hall on the first floor of the Jeonju Camtic Comprehensive Technology Institute.
This technology conference was organized to share domestic and international market trends and information on the carbon industry in response to the disruption of global industrial exchange and the restructuring of the GVC caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the carbon materials sector, and to establish an industrial development strategy through national industrial policy and R&D technology dissemination to secure domestic and international value chains for deglobalization and key promising industries.

The presentations are as follows: △Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) Team Leader Park Gak-no will present 'Materials, Components, and Equipment R&D Policy Direction'; △Defense Industry Technology Advancement Research Institute Senior Researcher Choi Jung-hwan will present 'Defense Industry 30-Year Alternative Material Technology Development Roadmap and Defense Industry Supply Cooperation Selection System'; △Korea Institute of Science and Technology Evaluation and Planning (KISTEP) Director Do Gye-hoon will present 'Global Technological Innovation Environment Changes and GVC (Global Value Chain) Reorganization Trends'; △Kumoh National Institute of Technology Professor Noh Jae-seung will present 'Current Status of Artificial Graphite R&D and Commercialization Strategy'; △Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute Director Lee Geon-woong will present 'Current Status of Carbon Material Recycling EMI/EMC, Heating Element R&D Technology'; △Korea Aviation Safety Institute Senior Researcher Yoon Beom-soo will present 'Introduction and Outlook for the Korean Urban Air Mobility (K-UAM) Industry'.

Next-generation wearable devices made with graphene
그래핀은 2차원 평면상에서 6각형의 벌집 형태로 결합한 탄소 원자 1층으로 구성된 소재다. 두께가 얇고, 투과도가 높으며, 유연하고, 늘어나고, 전기·열 전도성이 높다. 이러한 그래핀의 특성을 이용한 소재와 부품이 상용화된다면, 웨어러블 디바이스의 착용감이 지금보다 높아질 것이다.

Schneider Aims for Building Energy Savings and Operational Stability with Next-Generation HVAC Drives
슈나이더 일렉트릭이 차세대 HVAC 드라이브 제품군 ‘Altivar HVAC’를 공개했다. 새 제품군은 에너지 절감, 시스템 가동 안정성, 빌딩 관리 시스템 연동을 강화한 것이 핵심이다. 제품은 OEM 및 소형 장비용 ‘ATH200’과 연속 운전·고급 제어가 필요한 환경용 ‘ATH600’으로 나뉜다. 회사는 상업용 건물은 물론 병원, 공항, 데이터센터 등 공조 설비의 안정성이 중요한 시설까지 적용 범위를 넓히겠다는 구상이다. 발표 내용에는 30% 이상 에너지 절감, 영하 10도~영상 60도 운전, Modbus·BACnet 지원, 저지구온난화지수 냉매 대응 등이 포함됐다.

Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation. Ecolab plans to combine its water management and digital monitoring capabilities with CoolIT's hardware technology to expand its data center cooling business.
