According to an announcement by the Indian Ministry of Communications, Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, and others are participating in India's 5G pilot project.

Chinese companies such as Huawei and ZTE were not on the list.

Currently, India's four major telecommunications companies include BhartiAirtel, Reliance Jio Infocomm, Vodafone LSE India, and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (India's state-owned).

Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, and others have already formed partnerships with India's state-run Center for Remote Information Processing and Development.

A 5G pilot project to test 5G facilities and technology for six months has begun.

Prior to this, India had allowed Huawei to participate in 5G testing, but as the situation becomes more complicated due to border disputes and other factors, India's rejection of Chinese companies is becoming increasingly hardline.

Indian telecom operators are avoiding cooperation with Chinese telecom companies in the 5G sector.

In an interview, Wang Xiaojian, a counselor and spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in India, expressed regret over the refusal to grant permission for Chinese telecommunications companies to participate in 5G telecommunications experiments with Indian telecommunications companies. He stated, “Excluding Chinese telecommunications companies from joint ventures not only harms the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies but also hinders the improvement of the environment for Indian companies and is detrimental to the innovative development of related industries.”
