The 10th Busan International Machinery Show (BUTECH 2021), hosted by the Korea Industrial Marketing Institute, will open at BEXCO in Busan for four days from May 26 to 29.


BUTECH 2021, held under the theme of "A Venue for Smart Manufacturing Technology Innovation," will see 371 companies from 25 countries participating in 1,036 booths.

In particular, leading domestic and international machinery manufacturers of cutting, cutting, and bending machines are expected to participate in large numbers even amid the COVID-19 pandemic, providing a one-stop overview of global machinery industry trends, smart factories, and the future of the machinery industry realized through manufacturing innovation.

According to the BUTECH office, major laser processing machine manufacturers such as Korea Trumpf GMBH, Bystronic Korea, and HK, as well as global machine tool manufacturer DMG MORI Korea, and overseas equipment manufacturers such as JINAN BODOR CNC MACHIN, and WUHAN HG LASER ENGINEERING are expected to participate in this year's exhibition.

BUTECH 2021 will feature special halls, including the Smart Manufacturing Automation Technology Exhibition, Busan Mold Special Hall, and Green New Deal Policy Hall, in addition to the existing specialized halls for each product.

In particular, the Busan Smart Manufacturing Automation Technology Exhibition, previously held at Exhibition Hall 2, will be moved to Exhibition Hall 1 to ensure safe quarantine routes and increase viewing convenience.

Busan Smart ManufacturerLeading companies in smart factory construction, including Hiwin Corporation, Sanyo Electric Korea, iRobo, Rainbow Robotics, and Bizentro, will participate in the Fair to share the current state of smart manufacturing trends with visitors.

The Green New Deal Policy Hall set up at this exhibition has a different meaning from existing special halls in that it showcases regional balanced New Deal projects that are linked to the national balanced development policy. The BUTECH 2021 Green New Deal Policy Hall will introduce Busan's Digital New Deal and Green New Deal, which focus on 'building a win-win smart manufacturing demonstration cluster' and 'creating a power semiconductor industry cluster'; Gyeongnam's Digital New Deal and Green New Deal, which plan to 'accelerate the digital transformation of manufacturing sites' and 'create a RE100 green industrial complex linked to offshore wind farms'; and Ulsan's Digital New Deal and Green New Deal, whose core projects are 'creating an ICT-based future smart city' and 'creating a floating offshore wind power cluster'.

The BUTECH 2021 secretariat official said, “This year’s exhibition will be a signal to accelerate the global economic recovery and regional economic revitalization following the calming of COVID-19,” and added, “We hope that many companies will attend BUTECH 2021, which will showcase innovative products and technologies to respond to the post-COVID-19 era beyond the with-COVID era and to enhance the competitiveness of the national manufacturing industry.”

Meanwhile, the Korea Industrial Marketing Institute, established in 1993, has pioneered the domestic exhibition industry. It hosts five to six exhibitions annually in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Busan, Daegu, and Gwangju, boasting the most experience with regional exhibitions in Korea.
