IBM Korea Dedicates to Hybrid Cloud and AI Markets
We plan to expand our partner ecosystem and strengthen collaboration.

On the 10th, IBM Korea announced its partner ecosystem strategy for hybrid cloud and AI in an online media session and shared key achievements in the domestic market.
Won Sung-sik, CEO of IBM Korea's technology business, stated, "In line with our global strategy, we are focusing on hybrid cloud and AI." To achieve this, he added, "We will continue to invest in our partner ecosystem." The company plans to invest in and expand its ecosystem partners to enable customers and partners to collaborate with IBM in the ways they want and to rapidly deliver IBM's open hybrid cloud platform.

IBM has introduced a new go-to-market model (GTM) for customers seeking to adopt cloud and AI. We will work with various types of partners to support their IBM solution implementation (build), service (service), and sales (sell) activities.

Additionally, we will support partners in designing, building, and migrating solutions using IBM systems and software technologies optimized for hybrid cloud, and provide high scalability, resources, and capabilities to generate more demand.

Next, Data Solutions and Yeonmu Technology shared examples of collaboration with IBM.

For SubOne's AI development environment development project, the data solution, utilizing the IBM Cloud Pak for Data platform, provided the customer with a basic environment for managing and collaborating on the AI models they desired. Furthermore, it reliably supported additional analytical requirements, such as product recommendations, product attribute classification, and demand forecasting, expected to emerge as AI is applied to core business processes, enabling integrated management of data and AI.

Data Solution Managing Director Han In-ae said, “IBM’s CPD platform has the advantage of being easy to develop an initial model and having scalability through an optimization engine and IBM Watson-based text mining,” and added, “We look forward to a strengthened partnership between our two companies in the future, as Data Solution, with its analytical capabilities and expertise in IBM’s analytical platform, implements this structure.”

Yeonmu Technology introduced 'IBM Blockchain' to enhance the reliability and improve the performance of the platform used by a domestic public institution to operate local love gift certificates. High-end blockchain-specific systems and platforms enable faster and more flexible resource expansion, enabling the provision of high-performance and stable services. Furthermore, platform reliability has been enhanced through easier management and rapid response to failures through direct platform operation.

Kim Jeong-bae, Executive Director of Yeonmu Technology, said, “The introduction of IBM Blockchain has improved the operation of our trust platform, leading to not only improved public service but also increased reliability.”

“For companies to create business value by migrating core applications to the cloud, investment in a hybrid multicloud platform is necessary,” said CEO Won.

Citing research from the IBM Institute for Business Value, he emphasized the need for the introduction of an integrated operating model for hybrid cloud environments, saying, “Companies using hybrid multi-cloud platforms can realize 2.5 times greater value than those using a single cloud environment.”

Meanwhile, IBM announced initiatives to support its partner ecosystem at THINK 2021. IBM created a new competency framework to enable partners to demonstrate technical validation and sales success in specialized areas such as hybrid cloud infrastructure and security. Furthermore, to increase investment in ecosystem partners, IBM expanded the Cloud Engagement Fund (CEF) to allow partners to utilize it.
