The domestic launch price of Samsung Electronics' first gaming monitor supporting UHD resolution, the Odyssey G70A, has been set at 950,000 won.

Samsung Electronics will launch four new 2021 gaming monitor models, the 'Odyssey', in major markets around the world, including Korea, on the 21st.

The Odyssey G70A 28-inch features a futuristic design and a flat, wide-viewing-angle panel with Odyssey's first UHD (3,840x2,160) resolution.

The Odyssey G70A provides an optimal gaming environment for gamers who enjoy UHD quality game images by implementing a fast response speed of 1ms based on GTG and a high refresh rate of 144Hz to create a screen without afterimages or interruptions.

This product not only supports a maximum brightness of 400 nits, but also applies HDR technology, which is gaining attention as a next-generation image standard, to provide a vivid gaming environment by expressing dark areas on the screen darker and bright areas brighter.

The Odyssey G70A supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible, reducing screen tearing caused by communication issues between the PC and monitor during high-spec games.

Samsung Electronics has released not only the Odyssey G70A, but also the G50A and G30A models, broadening the range of consumer choices according to gamer preferences.

The Odyssey G50A (27 inches) supports the highest gaming specifications, including QHD (2,560x1,440) resolution, HDR10, wide viewing angle panel, 1ms response speed based on GTG, 165Hz high refresh rate, and G-Sync compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium compatibility.

The Odyssey G30A (27/24 inches) supports basic gaming specifications such as FHD (1,920x1,080) resolution, 1ms response speed based on MPRT, 144Hz high refresh rate, and AMD FreeSync Premium compatibility.


All models of the 21-year-old gaming monitor Odyssey being released this time have differentiated their design by applying ergonomic stands such as △HAS (height adjustment), △Tilt (up/down angle adjustment), △Pivot (screen horizontal/vertical conversion), and △Swivel (left/right rotation).

The Samsung gaming monitor Odyssey G70A 28-inch is priced at 950,000 won in Korea, the G50A 27-inch is priced at 650,000 won, and the G30A 27-inch and 24-inch are priced at 315,000 won and 275,000 won, respectively.

According to market research firm IDC, Samsung Electronics maintained its top spot in the global gaming monitor market with a refresh rate of 100Hz or higher, with a 16.9% market share based on annual revenue in the first quarter of 2021.
