AI serving robots developed and deployed at Interburgo Hotel Daegu
Voice recognition technology is expected to be added to the remote control function.


As the spread of COVID-19 increases hotel guests' anxiety about in-person service, AI serving robots are emerging as a new, non-face-to-face service to address this.

SK Telecom announced on the 27th that it held a business partnership agreement ceremony with four companies, including Woori Robot, Cogaplex, Youngwoo DSP, and Barmi Interburgo Hotel Group, at the Daegu Interburgo Hotel on the 25th to commercialize AI serving robots based on AI and indoor autonomous driving technology.
SK Telecom will integrate its Metatron Grand View technology to enable indoor remote control, essential for the commercialization of AI robots. This technology will monitor robots' operating status in real time, ensuring their effective indoor operation. Furthermore, big data collected through Metatron will be used to monitor the health of serving robots, enabling proactive after-sales service. Furthermore, usage analysis will support customized customer services.

Our Robot was in charge of planning and manufacturing the serving robot business, while Cogaflex developed AI indoor autonomous driving technology. Youngwoo DSP has developed and mass-produced a serving robot battlefield, and Barmi Interburgo Hotel Group has deployed serving robots in its Interburgo Hotel and Barmi restaurant.

The AI serving robots being commercialized at the Daegu Interburgo Hotel will be called "Servingo." Starting in August, around ten robots will roam the hotel's restaurants and lobby, delivering food and other requested items to guests. They will also serve as hotel mascots, welcoming guests at the main entrance and serving welcome drinks in the lobby.

SKT has been working with Woori Robot since 2020 to commercialize AI serving robots. Going forward, the company plans to further enhance the system by applying 5G networks and sequentially incorporating technologies such as facial and body recognition and voice recognition through vision AI. Meanwhile, in April, SKT deployed "Keemi," a 5G-powered complex quarantine robot, at Yongin Severance Hospital.
