Compressor Monitoring and Remote Control Possible from September
A subscription-based service that intelligizes the management of compressors (Compressor), which are widely used in manufacturing facilities, has emerged. SK Telecom announced on the 12th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sung Shin Compressor and Soltec System for the commercialization of smart compressors. The three companies plan to improve challenges arising from compressor operation and maintenance processes through AI and cloud technology.

SKT will provide its AI smart factory cloud service, 'Grand View', optimized for Sung Shin Compressor's compressor products and plans to launch it in September. This is the first commercialization case of Grand View. Additionally, Soltec System will manufacture an IoT gateway for compressor data collection.
A compressor is a machine that receives power from a power generation device such as a motor or turbine, applies compression to air, refrigerant, or special gases, compresses the working gas, and increases pressure. Sung Shin Compressor manufactures and supplies 700 to 800 compressors annually within Korea.
Through smart compressors with AI technology applied to Grand View, Sung Shin Compressor expects to be able to provide ▲real-time monitoring of equipment information ▲alarms for equipment anomalies and failure precursors ▲remote control ▲AI-based predictive maintenance functions, making efficient operation possible.
The compressor-dedicated Grand View will be launched as a monthly subscription service model this time. Factories that adopt Grand View as a subscription service can reduce the burden of initial construction costs.
Kong-hwan Sung, CEO of Sung Shin Compressor, stated, "This collaboration with SKT is significant in that it has made it easier to maintain, service, and manage compressors at industrial sites through LTE network data collection," and added, "We will continue to make efforts for the widespread adoption of smart compressors."
