Information and communications technology (ICT) exports in July recorded the highest July ever, with most items, including semiconductors and displays, showing brisk export performance.

According to the ICT trade status announced by the Ministry of Science and ICT on the 12th, exports amounted to $19.5 billion, imports amounted to $11.32 billion, and the trade balance recorded a surplus of $8.17 billion.

Exports reached $19.5 billion, a 30.2% year-on-year increase, marking the 14th consecutive month of growth since June 2020. This figure represents the highest July export volume ever recorded. Daily average exports also increased by 32.9% year-on-year, marking the highest July daily average ever recorded.

By major product, semiconductor sales rose 38.8% year-on-year to $11.05 billion. Driven by continued demand growth and rising unit prices, memory and systems sales also rose, reaching the $10 billion mark for the third consecutive month. Memory exports reached $7.14 billion, up 43.8% year-on-year, and systems recorded their highest export volume ever, reaching $3.34 billion, up 35.8% year-on-year.

Display sales increased 34.9% year-on-year to $2.09 billion. This marks the 11th consecutive month of growth, driven by robust OLED demand. OLED sales reached $1.22 billion, up 89.6% year-on-year.

Mobile phone sales increased 12% year-on-year to $960 million. The launch of premium smartphones in the second half of the year led to a simultaneous expansion of both finished and component sales, leading to growth.

Computer and peripheral equipment exports increased 28.3% year-on-year to $1.55 billion. The concurrent increase in both computers and peripheral equipment marked the fifth consecutive month of export growth.

By major country, China's exports increased 30.7% year-on-year to $9.1 billion. Major items such as semiconductors, displays, and mobile phones all saw increases, marking the 11th consecutive month of growth.

Vietnam's imports increased 17.9% year-on-year to $2.94 billion, while the United States' imports rose 47.3% year-on-year to $2.65 billion. The EU's imports rose 12.8% year-on-year to $970 million, and Japan's imports rose 19.2% year-on-year to $360 million.

ICT imports amounted to $11.32 billion, up 14.9% year-on-year.

By product, semiconductors increased 18.2% year-on-year to $5.36 billion, while computer and peripheral devices rose 27.9% to $1.34 billion. Displays rose 3.1% year-on-year to $320 million. Mobile phones decreased 7% year-on-year to $720 million.

Among major countries, Taiwan, the United States, and the EU increased, while China, Japan, and Vietnam decreased.
