SKT-Value Companion-Bosch Rexroth, Smart Factory
Support for big data analysis and machine learning model implementation

On the 16th, SK Telecom, Value Companion, and Bosch Rexroth Korea announced the formation of a specialized team to provide one-stop support for smart factory construction. The three companies signed a business agreement on the 12th and agreed to establish a one-stop smart factory support system that combines IT solutions and consulting.

SKT provides its own big data analysis solution, Metatron Discovery, and a cloud analytics environment. It stores real-time production information collected from each production process and implements a machine learning model based on correlation analysis of production data and defect information from inspection processes. This model is then integrated into Metatron, and the results are visualized and provided to companies that implement the system.

Value Companion provides consulting services related to productivity enhancement and verification of improvement effects. It analyzes process quality within the production process, defines analysis tasks, and designs machine learning models. Bosch Rexroth provides an IoT gateway and supports the transmission of manufacturing facility data.

The first company to receive one-stop support from a specialized team is Naturetech, a health functional food company. Naturetech aims to improve quality and productivity by: ▲collecting real-time data on the health functional food production process; ▲preventing quality defects through automated control; and ▲establishing optimal working conditions through big data analysis and machine learning. This support will allow Naturetech to implement an automated production facility control system as part of the second phase of its smart factory advancement.

Going forward, the three companies plan to collaborate on building smart factories centered on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These companies face significant capital investment costs, and due to social changes such as minimum wage increases and shorter working hours, they face the burden of hiring dedicated personnel to operate smart factories. The three companies plan to continuously develop and deploy a collaborative model that meets the system-based operational needs of these companies and enhances their profitability.

Additionally, SKT launched Cloud Radar, a next-generation, AI-based cloud management platform. Cloud Radar is a cloud management platform (CMP) that enables optimized cloud cost management using AI technology. This platform learns customers' cloud usage history to predict cloud usage costs, proactively detect potential errors, and identify their causes, helping customers reduce their cloud costs by finding optimal resource utilization methods.

Cloud Radar provides integrated management capabilities even across multi- and hybrid clouds, enabling comprehensive management of SKT's entire cloud services, including Mobile Edge Computing (MEC), cloud networks, and cloud security. Cloud Radar currently manages Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure, and plans to expand its management scope to Google GCP, Naver NBP, and Kakao Enterprise by the end of the year.
