LG Electronics and Hyundai Elevator to Jointly Develop Smart Building Project

On the 20th, LG Electronics and Hyundai Elevator signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate in various business areas, including robotics, signage, and smart homes and buildings. The signing ceremony was attended by LG Electronics Business Division President Kwon Soon-hwang and Hyundai Elevator CEO Song Seung-bong.

The two companies will proceed in stages, including ▲ discovering robot logistics service business opportunities, ▲ building premium elevators with OLED signage, and ▲ promoting differentiated smart home and building services.
In the robotics field, robot-elevator linkage is advancing robot delivery services, such as autonomous robots taking elevators and delivering packages or food to customers' desired locations. Based on this, various business opportunities are being explored in apartment complexes, office buildings, hospitals, etc. Additionally, we will apply cutting-edge signage technology, such as OLED displays, inside elevators to maximize user convenience and strengthen our premium image.
Song Seung-bong, CEO of Hyundai Elevator, said, “The convergence of our elevator open API and untact technology, which we are developing, and LG Electronics’ autonomous robot and smart building solution that applies signage technology, will create synergy in various areas such as apartments, hotels, and buildings,” and “The two companies will open the ‘vertical e-mobility’ market together in the future.”
LG Electronics President Kwon Soon-hwang said, “We will discover high value-added spatial services through collaboration in the areas of robotics, signage, and home and building solutions, and provide differentiated experiences.”

Maxim and iZip Develop Human Body Recognition Function for Low-Power IoT Devices
Maxim has announced that its neural network MCU, MAX78000, has been applied to the Visual Wake Word (VWW) model of Aichip, an AI company for IoT applications. The low-power network extends the operating time of battery-operated IoT systems for human detection such as building energy management and smart security cameras. The MAX78000 low-power neural network accelerator-based MCU executes AI inference with less than 1/100th of the energy compared to conventional software solutions, improving the operating time of battery-operated edge AI applications.
