The Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI, Director General Kim Young-sam) marked its 30th founding anniversary by reflecting on the institute's achievements over the past 30 years, reaffirming its commitment to the future, and proposing '2030 Three Core Values'.

The Electronics Technology Institute held its 30th founding anniversary commemoration ceremony on the 26th via online live broadcast while adhering to COVID-19 quarantine guidelines. The event was attended by Minister Moon Seung-wook of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Park Geon-soo, Chairman of KETI (President of Korea Polytechnic University), among others.

Minister Moon Seung-wook stated in his congratulatory remarks, "I hope KETI will continue to serve as a reliable partner to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and lead the paradigm shift in the electronics industry."

Chairman Park Geon-soo encouraged the institute, saying, "For South Korea to leap forward as the center of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, I urge KETI to take the lead and make every effort to rise to the challenge."

The ceremony was divided into two parts. Part one featured congratulatory remarks, presentation of commendations and certificates of appreciation, announcement of 2030 values, and a proclamation ceremony for the 30-year history. Part two consisted of celebratory performances and live quiz shows with employee participation.

To commemorate its 30th founding anniversary, KETI announced '2030 Three Core Values' to provide innovative value to businesses, people, society, and the nation going forward: △Transformation of Five Industries △Scale-up of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises △Resolution of National and Social Issues.

First, KETI is setting the direction for transformation of the media, biohealth, mobility, manufacturing, and energy-environment industries as metaverse, AI life care, fully autonomous driving, Industry 5.0, and carbon neutrality, respectively, and will focus on developing industry-transformation enabling technologies to accelerate these shifts.

Additionally, the institute plans to strengthen its 3C (Committee, Companionship, Channel) strategy to expand support for small and medium-sized enterprises. KETI will launch the Electronics Technology Innovation and Growth Committee to oversee promising company investments, establish a more comprehensive corporate collaboration platform, and diversify contact channels to enhance corporate accessibility to the institute's technologies and researchers.

Finally, KETI will secure next-generation core original technologies such as batteries and semiconductors and focus on localizing domestic materials, components, and equipment technologies. Furthermore, based on regional hubs in North Jeolla, Gwangju, South Jeolla, and South Gyeongsangnam Provinces, the institute will lead regional innovation and growth and is expected to present optimal solutions addressing various social problems through problem-solving R&D.

Meanwhile, KETI published the '30-Year History of the Korea Electronics Technology Institute' to commemorate its 30th anniversary and held a proclamation ceremony to present it to Minister Moon Seung-wook and KETI executives and staff. This historical record, comprising approximately 360 pages, vividly documents the institute's major achievements and growth trajectory over the past 30 years.

KETI Director General Kim Young-sam stated, "The slogan of KETI marking its 30th anniversary is '30 Years of Technology, Beyond Imagination into the World'," and added, "Based on the distinctive innovative technologies accumulated over the past 30 years, we will open a new future for the electronics industry."
