The 5th World Smart City Expo, hereinafter referred to as 'WSCE 2021', the largest smart city international event in the Asia-Pacific region, hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, Korea Water Resources Corporation, and KINTEX, will be held at KINTEX in Goyang from the 8th to the 10th.

WSCE 2021, celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, is themed "See REAL YOUR SMART CITY." It is an international event where domestic and international urban experts, businesses, international organizations, and the public come together to share smart city policies and technologies and discuss the vision and value of cities. WSCE 2021 is expected to further strengthen the status of Korea's smart cities and enhance its global leadership.

At the opening ceremony, you can see congratulatory remarks from Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum and National Assembly Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee Chairman Lee Heon-seung, as well as congratulatory messages from various countries, including Peruvian Minister of Housing, Construction and Sanitation Geiner Alvarado López and Bulgarian Mayor of Kazan Lukács Galina Stoianova. And Keith Strier, NVIDIA's Vice President of Global AI, will be giving a keynote speech about our country's smart city technology.

The conference will feature over 150 prominent experts, including Franc Weereind, Mayor of Almere, Netherlands, and Carine Rolland, CEO of Plug Power, who will discuss the latest global agenda in depth.

The exhibition hall features the "Smart Challenge Hall," where local governments and businesses utilize cutting-edge technology to address parking, safety, and traffic issues in urban areas and explore various initiatives aimed at transforming cities into smart cities. The "National Pilot Cities Hall" showcases the progress and technologies being implemented in Korea's national pilot cities (Sejong and Busan), a model for smart cities.

At the entrance to the exhibition hall, a "Smart City Policy Wall" has been created, offering a glimpse into Korea's smart city development process and policies. The winning entries from the "Children's Drawing Contest" and "My City, Capturing a Smart City" video contest will also be on display.

Kim Heung-jin, Director General of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Bureau at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, “This expo is a world-class event that introduces Korea’s advanced smart city technology and policies,” and added, “It will be an opportunity to experience for yourself that you can enjoy a safe and convenient life through smart city technology.”
