Samsung Electronics has released a new micro SD card with enhanced performance and stability.

Samsung Electronics released its next-generation micro SD cards, 'PRO PLUS' and 'EVO PLUS', on the 8th.

PRO PLUS and EVO PLUS have been consistently loved by consumers in the micro SD card market since their launch in 2015, and are mainly used as expandable storage for mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, and action cameras.

This product is expected to satisfy not only general consumers but also creators who produce high-spec content such as 4K UHD videos with its enhanced performance and design that is resistant to external shocks.

The PRO Plus offers read and write speeds of up to 160MB/s and 120MB/s respectively, which are approximately 1.6x and 1.3x faster than the previous generation, while the EVO Plus also offers read speeds of up to 130MB/s, which is approximately 1.3x faster than the previous generation.

Both product lines feature special protection against six types of external shock, including waterproofing, heat resistance, X-ray, magnetic field, drop, and wear, allowing the Micro SD card to be used reliably even in harsh environments.

“As the demand for high-performance storage explodes, we need to use data more smoothly and safely,” said Lee Kyu-young, managing director of Samsung Electronics’ Brand Product Biz Team. “The market demand for memory cards that can be stored has increased,” he said. “We will continue to satisfy the diverse needs of consumers by launching a next-generation micro SD card product line that combines performance, stability, and durability.”
