Mouser Electronics, an industry-leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor supplying the widest variety of semiconductors and electronic components, is taking the lead in the distribution industry with a state-of-the-art logistics center equipped with the largest vertical lift module.

Mouser recently announced that it is making continuous, massive investments in state-of-the-art automation at its global distribution centers to increase order throughput, accuracy, and speed, enabling customers to further shorten time-to-market.

By this year, Mouser has installed 102 vertical lift modules (VLMs), the largest number among companies in the Western Hemisphere and the fourth largest in the world.

The VLM is a massive vertical filing cabinet that delivers parts to employee workstations via shelves and automated elevators. This can increase work efficiency and workspace and reduce employees' walking time by more than 45%.

In addition, the logistics center is equipped with numerous Ultipack and I-Pack machines, which are sophisticated automated systems for product packaging and labeling that process up to 14 orders per minute.

Mouser is currently installing the OPEX Perfect Pick system and the AutoStore system. All of this investment is aimed at processing order fulfillment, pickup, packing, and shipping within a very short timeframe.

Meanwhile, the global retail industry is currently in the midst of building smart logistics centers. Through the adoption of AI-based logistics operation systems, the industry is introducing automated warehouse systems where robots automatically pick products, as well as state-of-the-art sorters.

Through this, we are seeing the effect of reducing outbound and storage costs, and by maximizing operational efficiency to enable fast delivery to customers, we are increasing the efficiency of logistics processing.
