The Korea Technology Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) organized an event to introduce promising technologies and explore technology transfer under the theme of 'Touchless Technology - Non-contact Sensing and Control'.

The TIPA SME Technology Innovation Center will hold the 2nd Joint Technology Exchange Meeting online starting at 13:00 on October 7.

This event is being held for small and medium-sized enterprises interested in industry-academia-research collaboration and R&D, under the theme of ‘Post-COVID Era, Promising Technology (2): Touchless Technology - Non-contact Sensing and Control’.

The schedule begins with opening remarks from the Head of TIPA’s Cooperation Business Division, followed by an introduction to TIPA’s support projects.

Next, as part of the first session, the Korea Institute of Nanotechnology will present high-sensitivity broadband load cell structures and modules (gravity sensors, pressure sensors), and Daegu Catholic University will present semiconductor gas sensors and potentiometric gas sensors, as well as precursor and ink solution processes used in electronic/energy/environmental devices and printed electronics.

In addition, the Korea Fusion Energy Research Institute will present on fast neutron-based digital imaging technology.

Part 2 of the event will feature matching consultations between small and medium-sized enterprises and public research institutes, conducted via advance reservation.

Meanwhile, touchless technology has recently been receiving a lot of attention due to COVID-19.

It helps avoid unnecessary contact in public places and is gaining attention as an effective method to block the transmission routes of infectious diseases.

Recently, payment methods are also shifting to touchless systems. Various technologies such as NFC, AI, contactless sensors, and camera recognition are emerging in this field and are being widely used in areas like airports and healthcare.

In the future, both related technologies and industries are expected to grow, and applications are anticipated to expand from existing limited fields such as payments and healthcare into diverse areas like education and food service.
