Nordic Semiconductor (CEO Choi Soo-cheol of Nordic Korea) has laid the foundation for simplifying and accelerating the wireless product development environment with the release of nRF Connect for Visual Studio Code.


Nordic Semiconductor announced on the 18th that it recently released 'nRF Connect for VS Code'.

This expansion pack enables developers to develop, implement, test, and deploy embedded applications based on Nordic's nRF Connect Software Development Kit (SDK) using the popular Visual Studio Code Integrated Development Environment (VS Code IDE).

The nRF Connect SDK is a development tool for implementing nRF53 and nRF52 series short-range wireless and nRF91 series low-power cellular IoT solutions.

Nordic's nRF Connect for VS Code provides a complete IDE for developing applications based on Nordic products, including a compiler and linker, an RTOS debugger, and a seamless interface with the nRF Connect SDK, as well as an integrated serial terminal and other useful development tools.

VS Code is a lightweight yet powerful IDE for macOS, Linux, and Windows that combines a simple source code editor with powerful developer tools.

Also a strong ecosystemIt is highly extensible. The IDE further simplifies development through easy customization features, and its interactive RTOS debugger allows users to step through source code, inspect variables, investigate threads, view call stacks, and issue debugging commands from the console.

VS Code offers both an intuitive and easy-to-use Graphical User Interface (GUI) and a powerful and complete Command-Line Interface (CLI), providing the efficiency of a CLI and the convenience of a GUI.

The product comes bundled with an expansion pack to enhance product development support and helps simplify the design of new nRF-based applications, building on the rich set of examples in the nRF Connect SDK and the Zephyr project.
