Vertiv, a leading provider of core digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, is enhancing its UPS and rPDU power management software with the release of a new VMware vCenter plug-in.

Vertiv announced today the release of the latest version of Vertiv™ Power Insight, which integrates directly with the VMware vCenter Management Platform, the industry's most popular centralized monitoring application.

This is the first version of Vertiv Power Insight software that provides single-pane-of-glass management capabilities from vCenter. Vertiv Power Insight v2.4 is available for download now from the Vertiv website.

Designed for users with distributed IT systems and who require centralized management of their power infrastructure, Vertiv Power Insight is easy to install and use, simplifying UPS system and rPDU management in distributed and virtualized environments.

With Vertiv Power Insight v2.4, data center and IT managers can manage up to 100 devices, including Vertiv uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and rack power distribution units (rPDUs), directly from Power Insight software or its vCenter application.

A key addition to Vertiv Power Insight v2.4 is a VMware vCenter plug-in for seamless integration with the VMware vCenter management platform. This enables single-view monitoring, configuration, control, and shutdown of virtual machines, as well as improved application availability through automatic virtual machine migration via VMware's vMotion. The new version also includes improved alerting features and management updates.
