Intel has joined hands with Red Hat to advance the Industry 4.0 ecosystem by providing a comprehensive solution encompassing real-time field control, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, based on enterprise collaboration, thereby maximizing IT manageability.

Intel announced on the 5th that Red Hat is expanding its partnership with Intel by combining its open hybrid cloud technology with industrial Intel® Edge Control (Intel® ECI) and industrial Intel® Edge Insight (Intel® EII) to transform Industry 4.0 into smart manufacturing and energy use cases.

Looking at the key collaboration details announced by Red Hat, the two companies will first embark on the development of a reference architecture using Intel ECI to create a scalable, open platform that combines virtualization and container control with artificial intelligence and machine learning models.

In addition, through software-defined solutions for control, it supports the establishment of a foundation for modern industrial edge solutions by improving flexibility and availability and reducing costs, and drives innovation in other Industry 4.0 fields such as private wireless networks, open manufacturing platforms, energy data platforms, digitalization of the power sector, and autonomous mobile engineering.
