VMware (CEO Raghu Raghuram), a global leader in enterprise software, is accelerating the multi-cloud transition for telecommunications operators.

VMware announced on the 4th that it is strengthening the VMware Telco Cloud Platform.

Today, telecommunications operators rely heavily on the use of the cloud to deliver innovative apps and services to customers more quickly. As apps and data continue to be distributed across multiple clouds and locations, telecommunications operators require the flexibility to deploy and continuously manage workloads from anywhere.

To support this, VMware announced the following enhancements to its VMware Telco Cloud Platform portfolio.

VMware Telco Cloud Platform for public cloud enables telecommunications operators to seamlessly adopt the public cloud across their 5G architecture.

In addition, the VMware Telco Cloud Platform for Edge provides the foundational support to deliver next-generation telecommunications and computing services to the edge of enterprises, including telecommunications operators.

VMware Telco Cloud Automation is a new automation feature that supports continuous multi-cloud operations across the entire network. In addition, network slicing functionality is added through the currently available technology preview Project Lattice.

VMware RIC supports increased speed and application innovation across the RAN through VMware RIC, a RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC) platform for Radio Access Networks (RAN).

This allows customers to achieve the agility and speed required for large-scale 5G deployments.”
