The Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (President Park Sang-jin, hereinafter KIMM), under the Ministry of Science and ICT, has been recognized for its various efforts to improve anti-corruption measures.

On November 10, the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials received ISO 37001 certification for its anti-corruption management system from the Korea Productivity Center Certification Institute.

ISO 37001 is an anti-corruption standard established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in October 2016. It grants certification by comprehensively reviewing various activities for sound management, ranging from setting anti-corruption goals to diagnosing corruption risks, establishing control measures, and conducting anti-corruption monitoring activities.

Starting with the reorganization of the Audit and Integrity Department last May, the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials has been promoting the establishment of an anti-corruption management system manual, diagnosis, evaluation, management, and monitoring of corruption risks by department, and the strengthening of internal audits.

Prior to this, on October 28, it received certification for the safety and health management system 'ISO 45001', the highest level international standard in the safety field.

President Park Sang-jin said, “We will strive to spread a culture of integrity in line with the growing public expectations regarding the roles and responsibilities of government-funded research institutes.”
