The Intelligent Convergence Research Institute of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) introduces intelligent convergence technologies that will solve social problems in a 3D virtual exhibition hall, opening up opportunities for the disclosure of key research achievements, the expansion of their use, and the creation of new businesses.

ETRI announced that it will hold the 'ETRI Intelligent Convergence Research Institute Digital Tech Week 2021' online for five days starting from the 15th.

On the first day of the event, the 'ETRI Open Source Tech Day 2021,' jointly organized by five government-funded research institutes, will also be held.

Under the vision of being a "comprehensive national intelligence research institute shaping the future society," ETRI’s Intelligent Convergence Research Institute is striving to lead the development of advanced ICT-based intelligent convergence technologies to solve public and daily life issues.

At this event, held for the second time following last year, the Intelligent Convergence Research Institute will unveil its major research achievements and technologies currently under development.

The 3D virtual exhibition hall showcases a total of 51 technologies, including: strategies for promising AI+x services to solve social problems; intelligent multi-drone delivery control technology; a lightweight IoT device framework; Korean-style e-call terminal technology; uncloning biometric technology; a surplus power trading service platform for residential use; AI CCTV technology for identifying vehicles in wild environments; and intelligent crime response technology.
ETRI prepared a 3D virtual exhibition hall tour to lead a new exhibition culture in the post-COVID era.

It is expected that a venue for broad communication and exchange with industry, academia, and research stakeholders will unfold, as users can tour virtual exhibition booths through avatars on the Tech Week website to see, hear, and ask questions about technology.

Meanwhile, 'ETRI Open Source Tech Day 2021,' which will be held simultaneously online (https://eostday.kr) on the 15th, the first day of Tech Week, is jointly organized by five government-funded research institutes including ETRI, KARI, KERI, KAERI, and KICT to promote the full-scale expansion of the community.

This year's Open Source Tech Day event will be held with the participation of leading domestic and international IT companies, including Naver, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and SK Telecom, covering topics such as keynote speeches, the open source industry and ecosystem, open source platform technology, and open source artificial intelligence and mobility.

This event is expected to foster innovation through the widespread adoption and collaborative development of key research achievements in artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, and mobility developed by domestic government-funded research institutes, and to open up opportunities for creating new businesses.
