Fluorine Korea (formerly Solvay Korea Onsan Division, CEO Beom-Seok Oh), a semiconductor and secondary battery materials specialist, has selected a lead manager and is preparing for an IPO in 2023.

Fluorine Korea announced on the 17th that it had selected Korea Investment & Securities as the lead manager for its initial public offering (IPO).

Fluorine Korea is a subsidiary of KNW (CEO Won-seok Oh), a company specializing in advanced materials.

Fluorine Korea, which signed a lead manager contract with Korea Investment & Securities on the 16th, plans to begin preparing for the public offering by reorganizing its internal organization with the goal of listing in 2023.

A company official said, “The funds raised through the IPO will be invested in facilities to stabilize the domestic supply chain for semiconductors and secondary battery materials, achieve quality management, and practice ESG management,” adding, “We plan to carry out new businesses utilizing idle land through strategic alliances and expand our product portfolio.”

“We will secure market competitiveness through products with superior performance compared to existing semiconductor specialty gases, increase sales of secondary battery electrolyte additives (F1EC), and secure growth engines to maximize corporate value,” said Oh Beom-seok, CEO of Fluorine Korea. “In addition, we will realize a sustainable business by expanding the carbon emission rights business in line with the global trend of transitioning to carbon neutrality due to eco-friendly policies. By achieving these goals, we expect to receive a positive evaluation at the time of our listing in 2023.”

Meanwhile, Fluorine Korea, which inherited 60 years of know-how from the global chemical conglomerate Solvay Group, is producing F2 (fluorine) gas and S, which are key materials for semiconductor processes.We specialize in producing special gases such as F6 (sulfur hexafluoride) gas. Fluorine Korea plans to grow by taking advantage of the increasing demand for F2 gas, which is environmentally friendly and has excellent cleaning power, amidst fierce competition in the global semiconductor foundry industry.
