The Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI, President Kim Young-sam) has joined hands with France to collaborate on international standard technologies for IoT and smart city.

KETI announced on the 22nd that it signed a memorandum of understanding with the University Cote d'Azur in Nice, France on the 19th, covering international joint technology development in the fields of IoT and smart cities, and exchange of personnel and information.

The University of the Côte d'Azur is a comprehensive university located in Nice, a city in southern France. It is building a collaborative network with numerous universities and research institutes to foster an innovation ecosystem with the international high-tech park Sophia Antipolis, where the university is located, and is driving regional innovation.

Through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the two organizations agreed to promote personnel exchanges in areas of mutual interest such as IoT (Internet of Things) and smart cities, joint research projects, joint hosting of seminars/conferences, and exchange of research content and academic information.

KETI President Kim Young-sam said, “Sophia Antipolis is a representative research complex in Europe, and recently it has been standing out in the IoT field, and excellent human resources, companies, and institutions are coming together to form a cooperative network.” He added, “We expect that these innovative resources will lead to the development of new products and services based on KETI’s IoT platform ‘Mobius,’ making our lives more convenient and enriching.”

Meanwhile, the noseTD University participated in the '5th Mobius International Developer Competition', an IoT service developer competition co-hosted by KETI and ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) with the support of the Ministry of Science and ICT, and two teams (IOTIA Teams 1 and 2) won the Encouragement Award for their fire detection and prevention system, demonstrating the creativity and technical excellence of their ideas.
