A versatile touchscreen controller that offers various screen flexibilitys, such as ISO 26262 functional safety support and flexible RF emission control, has been released and is expected to save time and resources required for additional development and certification.

Microchip Technology (Asia General Manager and Korea Representative Han Byung-don), a global leader in microcontrollers, mixed-signal, analog semiconductors, and flash-IP solutions, announced on the 1st that it has launched a new maXTouch® touchscreen controller that enables developers to implement various unique aspect ratios on in-vehicle touch displays.

The new product includes additional functional safety support in accordance with OEM requirements.

The MXT1296M1T can reconfigure driving and receiving touch channels to match accurate screen formats ranging from 1:1 to 5:1 aspect ratios, including the widely used 8:3 automotive aspect ratio.

This feature allows customers to efficiently utilize the number of available touch channels without the need for larger and more expensive touch controllers.

In addition, by reusing standard PCB designs to support various touch sensor aspect ratios, time and resources required for additional development and certification can be saved.

The MXT1296M1T is the industry's first to support sensor channel reconfiguration by parameters.

These settings do not require separate firmware modification. This reduces design risk and shortens the time to market.
