Samsung Electronics has chosen a bold generational change by replacing all heads of its three divisions (CE, IM, and DS).

Samsung Electronics announced its 2022 regular executive reshuffle on the 7th, with a total of nine people, including one promotion to chairman, two promotions to vice chairman, three promotions to president, and three changes in assigned duties. The CE and IM divisions were integrated into the SET business.

Kim Ki-nam, Vice Chairman and Head of the DS Division at Samsung Electronics, has been promoted to President of Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology.

Jong-hee Han, President of Samsung Electronics' CE Division's Visual Display Business, has been promoted to Vice Chairman and Head of Samsung Electronics' SET (Integrated) Division and Head of the Visual Display Business Division.

Samsung Electronics Business Support T/F President Jeong Hyeon-ho has been promoted to Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics Business Support T/F.

Samsung Electronics North America Vice President Choi Kyung-sik has been promoted to President of Samsung Electronics SET Division North America.

Park Yong-in, Vice President and Head of Strategic Marketing at Samsung Electronics' DS Division's System LSI Business Unit, has been promoted to President and Head of the DS Division's System LSI Business Unit at Samsung Electronics.

Kim Soo-mok, Vice President and Head of the Litigation Team at Samsung Electronics' Legal Department, has been promoted to President and Head of the Legal Department at Samsung Electronics' SET Division.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics CEO Kyung-Hyun Kye's duties have been changed to President and Head of DS Division at Samsung Electronics.

Park Hak-gyu, President and Head of Management Support Office at Samsung Electronics' DS Division, has had his duties changed to President and Head of Management Support Office at Samsung Electronics' SET Division.

Kang In-yeop, President of the System LSI Business Division of Samsung Electronics' DS Division, has been appointed as President of the Americas of Samsung Electronics' DS Division.

A key feature of this executive reshuffle is that vice presidents/presidents who have contributed significantly to the company's development have been promoted to chairman/vice presidents, and vice presidents who have contributed to the growth of key businesses and strengthening the company's competitiveness have been promoted to president, realizing a performance-based personnel system.

Furthermore, through a generational shift in personnel appointments, including the appointment of individuals to lead the SET and semiconductor business divisions, each with the potential to lead challenges and innovations for the future, the company has established a foundation for leading change by establishing a new lineup amidst the intensifying global competition.
