The Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI, President Myung Sung-ho) extended a helping hand for a warm end of the year.

On the 15th, the Korea Electric Research Institute held a 'Sharing Hands of Love' event for neighbors in need of a warm helping hand at the end of the year.

Every year, KERI uses a portion of its employees' salaries and social service donations to purchase daily necessities and deliver them to neighbors in need.

Director Myeong Seong-ho and about 20 executive representatives visited 20 households in the Gyeongnam region, including elderly people living alone, child heads of households, and foster families, to deliver daily necessities such as rice and instant noodles. The delivery process was minimized in accordance with social distancing measures due to COVID-19. Employees of the research institute's regional organizations (Ansan and Uiwang in Gyeonggi-do, and Gwangju Metropolitan City) also plan to support neighbors in need in nearby areas according to a separate plan.

Despite the difficulties caused by COVID-19 this year, KERI has actively carried out various social contribution activities, including participation in the Fruit of Love Hope Sharing Campaign, donation of relief funds for soldiers in 2021, the Love Blood Donation Campaign, environmental cleanup activities, and the expansion of the foundation of science culture through the AI Love Changwon project.

KERI President Myung-ho Myeong said, “I hope this helps those in need have a slightly warmer and happier winter in a society made harsh by COVID-19,” adding, “Next year, we will strive to spread the institute’s positive influence far and wide through various sharing events with our neighbors in the local community.”
